Public Information

Well this blog is 100% public information… It has been revealed to me that that the history of this blog is truly being tracked by RSS Feeds. Since the RSS feed is public information I’ve simply decided to republish all of my history…

i am not giving any thought or consideration for what i am putting out into the world to be read. what i will be accountable for, what i’m trying to convey, and share. i just type some shit down and then send it out. i never read over it. this can’t be positive. it’s real. but, like the matrix, ripping off so many before it, said… so, soon will come the end of, “i should really blog something new. give people a reason to come back to the site. let me log on and write some thoughts down, blah blah, whatever they may be.” – Beausia

Although I’m publishing my realness I admit that I don’t go over my blogging and take into consideration what it is I am writing about… It’s just a lot of thoughts about my life… If I sat down and write essay like posts then that wouldn’t be me either. I could get philosophical about blogging but who’s reading anyway?

Ralphy Falcon

This is very sad. I recieved an email yesterday from the entertainment site Perrealo.com only to read about the death of one of my first friends in entertainment. Ralphy Falcon. I’m speachless after reading about the incident that lead to his death.

On Oct. 16, Cadena and Falcon apparently got into an argument – possibly over a woman – inside the Rio Grande nightclub at 194 Union Blvd., Lt. Anthony Traina said.

Cadena punched Falcon one time, according to police.

Falcon collapsed and never got up, and two days later lapsed into a coma for more than a week. He died Tuesday, leaving behind a 4-year-old son. He was 27. [con't reading...]

We worked together at The Rotunda Restaurant inside Nieman Marcus at the GSP where he was a waiter and I was a host. He was extremely witty and loved women. It makes me chuckle because he used to go out the night before and show up with pictures of his “parrandera” with women… One day he showed up calling himself DJ ELASTIGO!

Ralphy and Ray, one of his long time friends and a bus boy at the restaurant, would more then often come into work the next morning with bruises from the night before so we tagged them Batman and Robin. Go figure…

Ralph was the one that got me to buy my endless cd collection. He would often give me his promotional CD’s and he would occasionally ask me to DJ at the begining of night at the local clubs or accompany him to wedding and birthday parties.

In October of 1999 I quit my job at Nieman Marcus and persued my career. I would often see him at his parties after he would harrass me about not going to them. We would greet each other like brothers with a big hug and a smile on our face. All I can say now is rest in peace Ralphy.

What about my needs?

As of lately I have time to spare… So I’ve decided to redesign my website… or try to atleast with Flash Pro 8… I saw a really cool 3D box in a design that I am going to try and modify… I’m going to end up buying the damn thing if i can’t crack the code…

My phone is crapping out on me BIG time… I need to get another phone before it’s too late… Not too long ago i chipped the flip cover… the phone continued to work so i honestly didn’t pay any attention to it. This past monday the antena broke. Now not only does my signal come as it pleases, the phone itself is doing some real funky stuff…

It’s just a “Blog”

I’ve finally come across the perfect message for my blogging absense…

“It is better to be silent and thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.” — Silvan Engel

Now with that being said… I’m ready to remove all doubt… I just got home from a 14 hour work day, I feel a bit tired and I’m greatful that I have my career. I am also greatful that I don’t need to bank on the income of this blogging phenomenon in order to make ends meet or even for pocket change… After all, I certainly have no marketing skills not to mention the time to pitch ideas or facts about blogs to Venture Capitalists… especially if they are already aware of the blogging craze and have not invested into blogosphere.

Now that I’ve shared my thoughts about that, company start ups are exciting but they are also very stress oriented. You’ve got the customer watching over your shoulder, workers wondering when you’ll be done, and I love the people that walk by and make a quick suggestion repeating what you’ve just said 10 minutes ago. Tomorrow morning we have a customer coming in from the Dominican Republic, if I’m lucky enough, I’ll get to go down there for the start-up. I just missed the start-up on a machine that went to Spain and I had to do the programming of a PLC and a Eurotherm Drive via modem. Unbelievable but true.

Critical Thinking…

Bueno… by the end of the year I plan on moving out on my own… There are just a few catches…

  • I can’t find a place I like.
  • My family needs me more then I need them.
  • The possibility of going back to school lingers.
  • The possibility of a new work schedule is also in the air.
  • The idea of purchasing a new car is on my mind.

With those minor details to debate over, I weigh my options ever day. I constantly ask myself what is it that I want to do, what is the moral right thing to do, and what is the sacrafice I am making in either case. In a way I don’t think it’s wise for me to move out on my own, but at the same time, I feel as if I can gain so much more if I did. Privacy and self rule is priceless in my opinion. I’ve also considered purchasing a new house on my own. The problem with that is that there is much more responsibility as opposed to owning a condo. I swear I would have a heart attack if I had to pay a heating bill, water bill, gas/electric bill, and that’s not including the rent, telephone or cable each month… It’s a scary thought but sooner or later I’ll have to face reality and branch out on my own anyway… But i’m going to make baby steps first…

Note to self: I think I’m wise enough to wait until after I make my decision on staying or going before I purchase a new car…

Tweedle Dee…

Have you ever played with an Etch-A-Sketch to the point where you can see the miniature silver balls that cover the screen with powder and the stylus that makes it all possible? Yeah, I have a lot of time on my hands right now…

This past week has been quiet. I’ve completed the install of Word Press and it has been working to my satisfaction. Although I am also aware that there have been many blogs created where bloggers either double click or simply don’t wait long enough for the files and the process to complete itself. Thats a problem that is honestly out of my hands… I’ve removed the verification step where an email was sent to the bloggers account because it seems to me that the link was being cut off since it didn’t fit in one line. I’ve tested the process over and over again after the change and it appears to continue to work.. I’m also aware that error messages come up in the process… line 22, 28, 76 and … are fine. However I will continue to look into it. All I would ask for is that people have a little more of patience while these glitches are being fixed…

If your curious to know what the script/program looks like… here is a glimpse

$link = mysql_connect(DB_HOST,DB_USER,DB_PASSWORD) or die (“Could not connect”);
@mysql_select_db(DB_NAME, $link);

$query = “select * from table where blah = ‘blah’”;
$result = mysql_query ($query,$link) or die ( mysql_error ());
$row = mysql_fetch_array ($result);
$blog = $row['blog'];

mysql_close($link);

I think you can say that was the easy part in writing the script, program, archive or whatever you want to call it… Some programmers/webmasters wouldn’t even consider publishing thier work, but in my case, if it can help someone out I’m glad i was able to do so… Not to mention that this is only a fraction of the code…

The Clock Continues to Tick…

Good lord we have rain… and lots of it too… 8 straight days of rain. I honestly don’t know what to say since there were no major floodings in my neighborhood. However if you walk four block in either direction you are bound to find a lake in the middle of no where…

Aside from that, my poor Beetle didn’t quite make it past the third day of rain… It seems that water got into the electrical wire harness as well as the spark plug cables and distributor cap… It’s been two days since then that it’s been sitting in the garage with out any hope of turning on… It’ll give in eventually but I have to find a way around that so that it does not happen as frequent. Just the other day I was washing my baby and I guess water went down the wrong way… Three hours later I was stranded at Best Buy…

The intergration of Word Press on Blogs Dominicanos has been a sucess up to this point. I think I’ve tested the programming, inputs, outputs, and queries more then a million times over. I’ve run into a couple of problems that had me stumped for hours but over all it has been very rewarding. Slowly but surely its coming together.

Yo Tengo Un Lio…

I’m half way there with the Word Press upgrade to Blogs Dominicanos!

Word Press working on Blogs Dominicanos

The files are being copied and the databases are being created which is more then I can ask for. However I’ve encountered a slight problem creating sub-domains with our hosting service Dream Host. With that being said…this opens up another can of worms since I’ll have to edit every single page on Blogs Dominicanos…

Pero nah… I’ll get it done eventually… it’s just a matter of time.

Sweet

WordPress y Blogs Dominicanos. Over the next few days, I will be spending time adding this new “feature” to Blogs Dominicanos. I have yet to create and edit MySQL databases, program scripts, as well as update the hosting service for the site since we need to be able to create subdomains. This is something that I wanted to incorporate into the site from the begining, but since I didn’t know if there was a demand for a CMS, we built it without it. It’s certainly an alternative to other services.

I Think I’m Back…

A few months have passed by and I’ve decided to return to the joy of “blogging”. Truth be told I tried to create a podcast that didn’t get very far… It was extremely dull, boring and mellow… It was really bad… no structure, no background music and worst of all, I had no content…

El Bloguipodio

Now I’m going to put things into perspective with my blogging… Less personal and a bit more creative. Too much negativity and personal matters sorta ruins the blogging for me… That was more or less what happened just before I called it “quits” in August… for now, welcome back to my blog and I hope we can enjoy each others company…

Dominican Rock

So last night I finally got to see La Cortina del Palacio which was Directed by Carlos Ml. Placencia. I thought that both the movie and the story line were great… Jobo was indeed a funny character! As a matter of fact all of the characters in the movie had the perfect lines which were excecuted flawlessly and naturally. Carlos really wanted me to express my opinion right then and there, but I also said I would re-publish my blog with my opinion as my comeback into Blogs Dominicanos. It was indeed a great movie. Thanks again for the invite.

Dominican Rock

Speaking of which… I got there in our native “Dominican Time”… late as hell… I was only able to catch about 5 minutes of the trailer for the new documentary of Dominican Rock, directed by Harold Martinez… Dude, your documentary is going to rock man… I felt the love and passion that you and those artists have dedicated towards the documentary in those last five minutes. I wish you the best of luck!
