Ok… todo bien por ahora… I continue to enjoy my week off today… Last night I asked when I would be moving over to day shift and I was told that within 6 months I would be there… I had to chuckle. 6 months may be nothing but 6 months is more like an eternity when you only look forward to that opportunity. I guess I have to suck it up and stick it out for the next couple of months on night shift. I can’t complain… It really isn’t that bad… every other week I’m off… go figure…

This past weekend was really fun. I spent the day walking around with my cousin on 23rd, 34th, and 86th street shopping for my other cousins baby shower. Ahi si que se gozo. Ahhh… I can’t forget to mention the gay group of guys that were dancing with each other… lol… unbelievable… they were seriously into it too… Merengue, Bachata, Salsa y hasta Reggeaton… eso no tiene nombre… Primera vez en mi vida que veo personalmente un grupo de maricones bailando de to… y sobre todo en un baby shower.

Sunday we had the first family bar-b-q of the year. Our Special Guest was Mr. Angel Remo del Orbe y su esposa. Welcome to the family bro. You said you were going to blog about it, but I think I beat you to it. No pictures tho… I didn’t have a camera at hand but I know you had me up in the tree amoungst other places… If you send’em I’ll publish them in this post!

My cousins and I also decided to make plans to go to DR in July… well… DR or Miami… but it looks like DR will be the place to be… although I think it will be hot as hell during the summer months…

Ahh yes.. my parent’s have a buyer for the house and they will be closing sometime next month from what I heard. I hardly ask questions about any of that but I had to ask. Everyone I know asked me why I didn’t buy the house. Well… If I had a nice down payment along with the 6k+ monthly morgage, I may have considered… or better yet, the bank may have considered me as a potential buyer… but that isn’t the way things work… Not to mention that me and my sisters wouldn’t be compatible tenants. It isn’t just my house if I would have bought it… it would have been our house… and there are minor details that simply aren’t worth talking about…

Can you believe Eny got that interview! I am very happy for her and the rest of the bloggers. It seems like blogging is going into the mainstream of the Dominican Republic. More and more Dominicans are embracing blogs in ways I never expected. And for the last 2 weeks I’ve been trying to answer questions for another report by Jose Rafael Sosa… I just never have enough time between my daily routines, things that come up, and work to actually sit down and answer the questions. I will definately make time between today and tomorrow to actually sit down and answer them…

I keep on working on my side projects as well… Another website which is simply an update for the current site… and after that I think I’m going to continue working on Blogs Dominicanos. I have to update the scripts to create the Word Press blogs… that isn’t working for some reason. I also wanted to create some type of advertising campaign within the registered blogs… We’ll see what happens… That is a lot of time and effort which will go into it. The one thing we shouln’t forget is that this is a hobby… well atleast for me it is… and as I always say… blogging is therapeutic.

No lo puedo creer… hasta en los emails se hacen los chismes… bueno… chisme o no, creo que sera una falta de comunicacion. People… I’m not upset over the fact that only one person showed up at Ibiza… To be quite honest I wasn’t expecting anyone… Not to mention that my cousin had a baby shower Saturday night and I had a bar-b-q at my parents house the following day… I haven’t posted for a few days because I’m simply busy. I don’t see any need for anyone to send out emails accusing or assuming anything. Bueno… ahi lo dejo… solo le pido que ignoren los emails eso porque ya me tienen jarto!

Un Blo. Everyone I talk to about a blog has this look on their face like “What the hell is a blog?”… I ussualy use descriptions such as a website or a news site… but the truth of the matter is that they don’t exactly give justice to what a blog really is. Aside from it being a website, you have to login, select from a list of options such as edit, write, manage, options, templates, presentation etc etc etc… And you can’t force feed someone information if they aren’t interested in it so I simply leave it at that…

I honestly don’t know how i’ve managed to update my blog for as long as I have. I think that the desire to learn about html was the begining… Then I got into PHP because the html was simply too boring and easy to do… I’ve gotten suggestions to create HTML tutorials for our bloggers but it’s a bit time consuming to create… aunque talves un dia de estos me aburra tanto que me ponga hacerlo. Not to mention that I’m not getting paid for any of this… but then again thats what the internet is for right? I think Internet access should be completely free! Why should you have to pay? Not to mention that more then half of the information that is sold on the internet can be obtained for free if you search long enough. ohh.. and you can’t forget about P2P programs that allow you to download complete programs for free…

Ok… enough jibber jabber for now…

Pancakes for breakfast, pasta for lunch, quien sabe lo que hay para mas tarde… Yesterday I had lunch with my older sister who some how some way made it back to the states without me knowing. Like many Dominican parents, my parents thought that sending my sister to DR would keep her in check and away from the road she was heading down… boy were they wrong… lol… So she is back but not living at home and I don’t even know how to react to her sittuation… One thing is for sure, we can’t live together. It was one of the main reasons I decided to move out…

Other then that, me estoy pasando los dias trabajando aun mas de lo que trabajo en el trabajo… Me hice experto en Photo Shop y usando las funciones de Dreamweaver esta semana. Tambien encontre una vaina interesante que seria bueno implementar a los Blogs Dominicanos. Rentando espacio para promover los blogs o empresas dominicanas via un programa especificamente creado para Blogs Dominicanos… se puede hacer de diferente maneras… claro… se le puede pedir a los bloggers que le pongan un link de su blog a otro o a la empresa… Pero ya mi idea seria como una que me mandaron de un directorio Americano.

The algorithm and logic behind the script is kind of complicated but the fundamental point is to earn points/money for visiting the blogs that are registered in our directory or the Dominican Companies that desire to publicize on Blogs. You can earn points from other bloggers if you decide to rent out space on your blog and money if you promote the companies… This could lead to a small income once I figure out how incorporate a payment method for those that want to earn money on thier blogs! Vamos a ver como se hace… I’ll keep you all posted…

Creo que lo mas dificil de lograr en una relacion es la normalidad. Que se considera normal en una relacion y cuando se empieza a entender como es la otra persona. Cada persona es diferente… puede ser que pase 1 mes, 3 meses, 6 meses… 1 año… Si pudieramos conocer a esa persona con tan solo decir lo que dice Ricardo Arjona en una de sus canciones…

No, you can’t rush into anything but at the same time if you aren’t loved back with the passion and desire that you crave, you sorta feel empty. Esa vaina es complicada… mejor dejo el tema ahí…

I’ve got nothing to do… I’m attempting to make my own Vegetable Rice as I blog… vamos a ver como me sale esa vaina. Other then updating the website, I’m actually visiting some of these blogs leaving comments and visiting the same blogs over and over again… I think I put too much rice in the pot… oh well…

Meanwhile, we’ve got another website to program… I have to edit some images and try to make them look half way decent. I’ve also managed to edit a script to display the current weather in a particular area… maybe I’ll implement it on Blogs Dominicanos so it’ll display the temperature in Dominican Republic. Also, I created another member directory… It’s not done yet tho… maybe another month or two before the site is launched… One thing is for sure. It’s time consuming! geezzz… editing pictures in Photo Shop is no joke.

That reminds me… PodcastsDominicanos.com has been on the back burner for almost a year now! But that’s cool. I see more and more Dominicans creating podcasts so eventually I’ll launch the site for those podcasters to register… I think I can count the number of dominican podcasts with my fingers.

I have to update this blog as well… bueno… not in the sense of what I’m writing but perhaps re-creating the list of blogs that I read and or visit most… for starters we have…

One of the first sites I visited that led me to believe that a directory for dominican bloggers existed was DominicanBlogger.com…

A los Bloggers de NY que estan formando el Coro Blog.som que se pongan las pilas y me avisen con tiempo cuando hacen sus reuniones para poder compartir… I’m telling you through my blog that I work every other weekend… I honestly can’t take those weekends I work off… so If I miss out on the get together, email me… I’d love to be a part of the site as well as everything else like I told Alex in the email. A long email at that… sorry Alex… talves escribi demasiado… pero nah… dejenme saber en que paran el Sabado… y nah.. aqui esta el post de la reunion para el proximo sabado.

Me tienen a Pasta, Nantucket Nectars, y un Cepillo Amarillo por los proximos 6 dias… I had to drop off the car at the body shop yesterday. I was pretty outraged at the fact that the guy hit me, pulled over and then tried to get away after the fact. There isn’t much I can do but sit and wait now. The insurance company needs to go to court and sue him for the damages to the car… The damage was minor compared to the chase that occured after he tried to pull away… None the less there’s an estimate just below 2k for repairs by the insurance company.

Until then, I have to shell out my deductible in order to get the repairs done and drive around in the Beetle… It’s an awesome car to drive in so I honestly don’t mind the classic upgrade… It’s kinda on the slow side, but it gets me from point A to point B… not to mention that it takes less then half the amount of gas I fill the Beemer with… Sooner or later I’ll be back to White Rice, Steak, Vegetables, and Nantucket Nectars! That is unless the price of gas continues to go up and I decide to get cable for the apartment… Free Wireless is priceless so far…

Other then the latest “Super Edwin” (el nombre adoptado por Ivan) stunt, I’ve been enjoying a complete week off from work. This weekend it’ll be back to work as ussual and then another week off… hehe.. I love my job… Pero aun asi no me puedo ir muy lejo… tengo que ahorra el dinerito por si acaso… y ahi si que se pone agria la piña. Wanting to go out to watch a movie, eat out, or endulge myself with a Snickers Bar is kinda out of the question for the time being… well maybe I can afford the Snickers Bar.

OKiedOKie… I’ve managed to find a nice logo for those selected as “Blog de la Semana” @ Blogs Dominicanos. I’m not too sure how many times I’ll be changing it in order to really like the official one… meanwhile… I’d like to see what it looks like on a blog and I’ll let you guys decide if you like it or not… and if any changes would make it look better. Not too shabby… huh?

OKiedOkie… ahora en mi español… Al fin eh logrado hacer un boton para aquellos elegido como Blog de la Semana. No estoy seguro cuantas veces lo voy a cambiar pero por lo menos pueden ver como se ve… y por si la mosca… me dejan saber cuales cambios le podemos hacer…

Parece que nadie le hace caso a las noticias de Blogs Dominicanos… News about a get-together in 2 weeks was posted 3 days ago and barely one comment by an unknown blogger suggesting we go to a Comedy Club to celebrate the 1 yr aniversary of the website… pero eh verdad… Then you have get-togethers that are mentioned 4-6 days before they happen and I can’t go to them… es un plan que tienen ustedes.

This is something you only see at the movies… And damn do I think I’m a stunt driver.

First off there are six lanes… From left to right… 2 for the Upper Level of the George Washington Bridge, 2 for the Cross Bronx Expressway North Bound and 2 for the lower level of the George Washingotn Bridge.

I’m driving in the third lane over from the left into upper Manhattan heading towards the Cross Bronx Expressway North Bound. A gypsy cab is in the second lane heading onto the upper level of the GWB. At the last minute he attempts to merge into my lane! He side swiped me and quickly pulled into his lane before he hit the divider. I slow down and pull over just after the exit to 178th St. 30 seconds later the idiot that hit me pulls up. He gets out of the car and his first words were “You hit me!”

I almost went ape-nuts on the guy. After 2 minutes of arguing and getting no where I said I was going to call the cops at which point he got back in his car and back up onto the highway. I quickly got in front of the car. He continued to back up. I chased him down about 20 ft before he stopped. He hit reverse again! At which point I jumped on top of his hood. I swear I’m not making this up. I’m cursing and letting him know he is crazy with me being on the hood of his car…

Then again, I think I was the crazy one for jumping on top of his hood and going in reverse at 20 mph down an on ramp of a highway. So he signals that he is going to stop and pull over… OK… I get off and he quickly takes off in reverse again!

I start chasing the son of a bitch down again. He stops. And he takes off again onto the Cross Bronx Expressway leaving me about 100ft from my car which is waiting for me with the driver side door wide open. hehe… This is definately a movie scene. I swear I’m not making this up…

So I jump into my car and hit 60mph in about 4 seconds. By this point I thought I had lost the guy. I get off at 175 St and Amsterdam Ave… I see no sign of the car. I make a quick right to head to 181 St to make another right and get onto the Cross Bronx Expressway Again. I make my right hand turn. The next thing you know I’m heading down the on ramp towards the Cross Bronx Expressway. At this point I’m thinking, well if he isn’t at the next exit which is Jerome Ave. I’m sure I lost him.

What do you know. I’m at Jerome Ave and he is about to make a left hand turn! I quickly make a right hand turn and make another left to cut him off at the light! I should be a stunt driver. The minute he sees me he tries to hit reverse but it’s too late. He was trapped between me and another car which wouldn’t let him go anywhere.

He was scared shitless and I thought I was in the remake of the Transporter. By the time the cops had arrived and on lookers were saying I was drunk since they only got to see the part where I cut the guy off, got out of my car and jumped into his car to see if he would take off again. Que mojone tiene ese mmg.

I also got to see David Blaine at about 4 in the morning at Licoln Center. He is “Drowned Alive”… But he is really breathing off of an air mask like those that divers use. At the time I was there he was changing positions. He got up took a look at his spectators and raised both arms. Everyone cheered him on. One of the girls on the line said she wanted him to be up so she could flash her chest for him… hehe… What a lucky guy… It just happnens to be that my uncle knows him personally… and not to mention that I have an autographed photograph of him… yeah I know… big deal… pero nah… he is a cool guy…
