The Truth Will Set You Free!
So I actually started this post back in April… It’s now June and it’s as if nothing has changed… Well… maybe one thing… my windows are wide open as I enjoy the Southern Wind coming through my windows… Here’s what I had so far…
I swear I feel like I’m in my own series of Sex and The City right now… I’m in my apartment, listening to El Gran Combo, Looking out of my window at a glimpse of the New York City skyline that I have. Meanwhile, I have a wireless internet signal from god knows where and use it to write in my blog… you gotta love it…
I’m still getting that signal and you don’t see me complaining about it…
Next up will be Digital TV… I need to get cable for my new TV… yep I’m moving on up… I went ahead and got myself a 13 inch TV… hehe.. niiiiccceeeee…. Now my only problem is that my nut cracker chairs are living up to their name…
haha… no cable yet! That damn cable bill is a little to expensive for my taste at the moment. The little amount of time I spend here at the apt is valuble sleeping and eating time for me.
I have to update the site too… I’m being lazy… actually, I’ve been working a lot so… when I get to it I get to it…
Yeah man… I need to pick Blog of the week… Any suggestions!?!?
Other then that… this week was actually an eventful week… A co-worker got fired, my supervisor resigned, another co-worker was moved to first shift , another co-worker is on the verge of quitting, and I got a rasie! It seems like there will be more responsibility coming my way but I don’t think it’ll be anything I can’t handle… I hope… It sure doesn’t look like a very healthy environment to work in but the truth is that upper management likes to put pressure on it’s leaders. Isn’t every employer like that? You get paid to do a job… simple as that… I don’t know where exactly the pressure comes in tho. I do what I am told to do and put in extra time and effort whenever I am able to do so.
I’ve never expirienced anything like it before… The opportunity to get an up close and personal view of the human body. Not just rubber, real human corpses embodied in polymer which preserves the body parts that was not decayed by acetone.
The exhibit was great…although it was a little pricey @ $20 including a $5 discount… Pero nah… Once you pay up and walk around a little you forget how much it was that you paid to get in… The entire gallery of bodies was unreal. You can litterally see every single human body organ, vein, nerve, mussle… ahhh.. it’s rediculous… not only that… they have some of the most common desease formed on some of the organs… cancer being the most captivative from my expirience… but they also had a few intestines with ulcers!
You can easily spend a good 2-3 hours looking around, reading, and listening to audio as it describes each display. Ofcourse you don’t want to go there on a full stomache either… some of the displays will turn your stomache.
I went back to work on Sunday giving detailed descriptions about the spleen, the heart, colon cancer, penis cancer, a fetus @ 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 9 weeks, 15 weeks… oh god you name it they have it on display… It’s incredible…
Bodies sliced up… If you’ve ever seen the movie The Cell you’d know exactly what i’m talking about. The horse that gets sliced up in one scene… I think that scene scared the crap out of me because it just happened so quickly. But you were able to see the horses heart beat… the bodies at the exhibit are just as gruesome and detailing. I think I’d go back just to see the things I missed out on the first time and litterally read every description for each display.
I’ve also uploaded the two videos that they have on the site to YouTube…
Last night I learned about Our Lady of Fatima and the three sheppard children: Lúcia Santos and her cousins Jacinta and Francisco Marto… If you read the summary from Wiki, you’ll see that the majority of the events happened on the 13th of a particular month… Kinda strange if you ask me… At any rate… there were three secrets that were revealed to these three kids… one was World War 1. The second was Imaculate Heart and the third which was kept secret until Easter of 2000 was something along the lines…
In Portugal, the dogma of the Faith will always be preserved etc.
I’m not religious so I honestly can’t say I practice my religion to the fullest extent. None the less it was yet another one of those superstitious events in my opinion. I know there are many facts the back the story in the bible but they are scriptures that were obviously written by other people. I’m more susceptible to Evolution of man kind… It makes more sense to me… its scientifically proven as oposed to literature which has been written by religoius ideologists… It’s a great topic of conversation and I love to listen to the stories and the arguements people bring out to light…
Señores y Señoritas… if you want to see why our society has such a high rate of divorce, go see The Break Up… If you want to know why our society no longer has the Old School Type of relationships where they were married for years and years on out, go see The Break Up… Again… si en verdad quieren saber porque nuestra sociedad tiene un promedio tan alto de divorcio, vayan a ver The Break Up… Si en verdad quieren saber porque nuestra sociedad ya no tiene la classe de relaciones que nuestros padres mantenian, vayan a ver The Break Up…
The Break Up is the pinacle of all reasons for breakups… The movie’s ending sucked big time but the truth of the matter is that that’s the way things really end up in the real world. From the begining to end (minus the last 15minutes) was funny. Vince Vaughn was handed his heart on a silver platter in the last 15 minutes of the movie. Well it was probably more like the entire length of the movie from a guys point of view and more like he had it coming to him from a womans point of view…
What woman is going to use tactics to make her man feel jealous to the point where he backs down and realizes his mistakes, tries to correct them, and is then rejected!?! That pissed me off. Jennifer played a role where she took everything to the next level… Vince simply followed her actions by doing what a man with nothing to loose would do… In the end they had nothing to gain and nothing to loose because they had already lost everything the had to gain…
But then again… when you love someone you forgive everything don’t you? Not in the real world. Especially in the real world of NYC or any city where temptation and bad advice surrounds you…
And to conclude this post I’ll add Rule no. 4…
Talk and be open… Don’t wait till the last minute to express yourself
Bueno… 7 months later… I’ve decided to upload all of the pictures from my November trip to Dominican Republic up to Flickr. It took me some time to do it too… I’ve wanted to share the pictures but since I honestly didn’t know how, they sat on the server.
I’ve also uploaded a few videos from the trip too… This one is my favorite… I’ll be posing more pics and videos more often now… A certain somebody suggested I velcro a camera to my car and video tape my driving… I can’t promise you that, but I’ll see what I can do… One thing is for sure… If I video taped my driving I’d get tickets through comments…
Santiago, Santiago…
This past weekend was a relaxing and interesting weekend. Although I spent Saturday morning at my parents house as they packed nearly every item into boxes, I continue to believe I made the right decision in moving out… It’s bitter sweet… June 15th is the last day that I’ll be able to walk through that house. It’s very atypical for me right now. Another 2 weeks and my parents won’t be here any longer. No more visiting, seeing, or hearing their voices the way I always have…
Saturday night, Alex texted me to let me know that the NY Bloggers were still hanging out at Cabana Restaurant. So I mossi’ed my way over to the restaurant which led to a non-stop conversation about an on going project, a night of good music, Corona’s, and the selection of Blog de la semana for Blogs Dominicanos. It was quite interesting to say the least. hasta llegamos a escuchar los clasicos de Edolacha…
Sunday my parents had another bar-b-q. I had to sit out of this bar-b-q since I’ve had one to many bar-b-q’s for the month of May… They even have about 6 bags of charcoal ready to ship to DR for bar-b-q’s… yo me rio… I wish my retirement was that easy…
And finally! The article of the day… I actually surfed the blogosphere and ran into the 12 steps for Recovering Blog Addicts! It may be very serious but I’m ready to crack up… Blogging should only be permited to be a hobby or a past time… anything else is out of the question. For example… during one of my conversations with the NY bloggers I was told that I have to read everyones blog! Ok… the person that said that may of had one too many Corona’s but in all sincerity, I don’t think so. If I manage to read a blog in light of my work schedule, personal life, and social settings… i’m lucky… So you may ask yourself… How can you select blog of the week?!? I don’t always select them… The selection is made by other bloggers that read the blogs that are selected or those that I believe are worthy of the spot and there is a mutual agreement between the contributors and myself. If I had to read every blog in the directory, I’d be the first to admit myself into Bloggers Anonymous!
I’m also planning on going to DR on July 15th… returning on the 19th… amoung the things I’d like to do are: nothing, nothing, nothing and a lot of nothing… hehe… well… I guess a few family visits, a get together with the DR Bloggers, the opportunity to meet el Señor Sosa and thank him personally for his support and contributions to the site, a little bit of site seeing, lots of pictures and a lot of driving… I’ll be the first to volunteer as the driver in a country I know nothing about… hehe… me voy a dar una perdia de madre… pero asi se conoce mas… a la mala, pero se conoce mas…
When I return I’ll plan for my best trip ever… a trip to Europe… let’s see how I manage that one… I’d like a Ferrari… no hotel, no beach, no jacuzzi… just the Ferrari… and a lot of open road… hehe… in my dreams…
Some people think that Blogs Dominicanos has an automated email answering service…
This has to be my favorite email yet…
Gracias anyways…
eh… sorry dude… I check the emails and I answer them the minute I get the opportunity to do so… nothing personal… I’m simply not getting paid to do what I do not to mention this is all a hobby to me…
If I would be taking this seriously I think I’d create my own company and the whole nine yards… I’d go out and create the need for Dominicans to create a blog. If you are going to live in DR for a month… I’d want you to have a blog! If you are going to get water out of the comunity well, I want you to have a blog! If you are going to have a cook out, I want you to have a blog! and so on and so fourth…
The blog was added to the directory on 5/27… I recieved the first email on 5/29, and a second email from the same induvidual on 6/1… go figure… Now if I was getting paid… hehe… In my dreams…
