1973 Volkswagen Beetle

Since my father is in town I have been driving the Beetle for the last few days. The car has been parked in my aunts backyard for most of the summer as well as the mechanics shop for a few days. I must say that it needs a serious paint job. You’d say that the owner of the car doesn’t take care of it… in this case it is true…

The hood was dented over 2 years ago, the right fender was damaged by a tow truck, and the rear driver side fender was damaged at the mechanics shop. The paint on the car is unique. The pint of paint is like 500 dolores… It’s a pearl like yellow submarine color made specifically for this car. The thought of having to buy another pint gives me the chills.

It’ll be my project for the next 2 months. I don’t think I’ll get any helpers from my blog but your more then welcome to come help me grind, sand, prep and paint the car. I’ll be replaceing the hood and front passenger side fender, grinding down on the growing rust spots, and basically sanding the entire car just to re-paint it. I’ll start that project on the 15th with hopes of finishing it by the 15th of December. 2 Months.
